Scarsdale Police Department Recruitment Information


 The Scarsdale Police Department hires Police Officers from the Westchester County Civil Service list of eligible candidates.  The Westchester County Department of Human Resources administers the Police Officer examination used to fill vacancies in the Department of Public Safety Services, the Cities of Peekskill and Rye and the towns and villages within the County.

The next exam for Police Officer will be held on May 15th and May 16th, 2021.

The filing deadline for the exam is March 29th, 2021.
 

The fee for the exam is 100.00. The Westchester County Department of Human Resource’s website has a provision for individuals in need, to apply to waive the fee.  Please visit the following website for additional details on application fees:

 The position of Police Officer is considered to be a Public Officer and must meet all applicable provisions of the New York State Public Officers Law.  Standards for Police Officer are established in accordance with Section 58 of the New York State Civil Service Law and the New York State Public Officers Law.
