Term: 5 years; one term.
Meeting frequency: One reorganization meeting per year, and additional sessions as convened by the Scarsdale Village Board of Trustees.
Approximate meeting length: Varying, depending on issues under consideration.
Establishment and charge: Village Code Chapter 37, Article II: Board of Ethics
The Board of Ethics advises the Scarsdale Village Board of Trustees and staff on matters related to the Scarsdale Village Code of Ethics, and upon request from the Village Board of Trustees, may recommend updates or amendments to the code after reviewing existing provisions.
Members are expected to be thorough and unbiased in their examinations of relevant issues and how they pertain to the village code of ethics. They also are asked to research any issues referred to the board in order to provide insightful opinions.
The ability to be objective and open-minded is critical in serving on the board. Members welcome individuals with a variety of professional and volunteer backgrounds who can provide a diversity of opinions and broad perspective.
