Avoid COVID-19 Fatigue: Protect Yourself and Others
We have all been bombarded with messaging highlighting our personal and collective responsibilities to wear a face covering, practice social distancing, and avoid both public and private gatherings. However, this is not the time for fatigue to set-in. Please continue to pay close attention to the advice of public health officials and adhere to the regulations promulgated to protect the most vulnerable members of our community, state, and Nation. The sections below summarize the current public health and regulatory landscape, particularly as relates to holiday travel and private gatherings.
COVID-19 Vaccinations
If you are a Scarsdale senior citizen and are having difficulty navigating the vaccination appointment process, Westchester County has launched a new help line to assist weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m: (914) 813-6300. At this time, all others must either contact their private healthcare provider for an appointment or, for vaccination at a NYS facility, check your eligibility and make an appointment through NYS online or by phone through the hotline: 1-833-697-4829. Be sure to complete the NYS COVID-19 Vaccination Form after you receive an appointment.
Because information and protocols for COVID-19 vaccination is in flux and may be modified without advance notice, please check the NYS COVID-19 Vaccination Portal for the most current information and instructions.
In addition, please note that the Westchester County Department of Health provides weekly updates of COVID-19 vaccine allocations on their online COVID-19 Dashboard.
Westchester County has launched its ‘I Kicked COVID to the Curb’ media campaign to encourage teens and young adults to get vaccinated for COVID-19. Westchester has partnered with the New York Knicks to develop PSAs on the importance of vaccination. See the Knicks PSA here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SxVuM8vuACE.
