Roses are Red, Violets are Blue . . .

Here at Scarsdale Official, we LOVE professional local government and the community we serve, too! Together, we make Scarsdale a special place to live, work, and play. Collaboration and communication are hallmarks of both community life and our style of governance. Encourage friends to sign-up for Notify-Me, or even volunteer to serve on a Citizen Board or Commission. Not feelin' the love for Village Hall? Email manager@scarsdale.com to let us know how we can do better. Happy Valentines Day, Scarsdalians!

Thomas Sobol Award Recipient

Mr. Samuel "Sammy" Amoa, the Village Center Caretaker for over 25 years, was recently honored with the Thomas Sobol Award for Service to the Community! The Sobol award recognizes two Scarsdale employees each year, one serving Village government and the serving Scarsdale Schools, who like Dr. Sobol, set an example of professional skill and loyalty to the community. Congrats to Sammy -- his commitment to public service and excellence in all he did for the Village is exemplary! We'll miss his friendly Village Center presence.

Climate Smart Communities

The Village of Scarsdale has taken the Climate Smart Communities Pledge! Climate Smart Communities (CSC) is a New York State program that helps local governments take
action to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and adapt to a changing climate. In Scarsdale, we've been Climate Smart for a long time, and we''' be getting even smarter. Recent achievements include reaching the 1,000,000 pound mark for food scrap recycling and beginning to build our electric vehicle fleet. Check out the
CSC Certification Framework!

Don't Drain Your Wallet!

The top three contributors to high residential water bills are lawn irrigation, pools, and leaks. To break the high usage, high bill cycle, the Water Department encourages all  water users to review our Water Conservation Tips and plan ahead of time to minimize water consumption. Our competitive water rate information is available online, and water revenues are only used for water-related expenses, including critical infrastructure maintenance and replacement. Also, please consider replacing turf grass with native plants from the 2020 Presale - more beauty, less watering!
