Horticulture expert, Katie Tolson of Seed-on-Hudson Homegrown Garden Nursery & Flower Farm, will guide beginner, intermediate and adept growers on native planting. Topics will include pollinator plants and native perennials, seed procurement, plant propagation, soil enrichment, and plant selections tailored to support native bird life. Participants are encouraged to actively embrace their garden goals and to better anticipate variables of season and wildlife, plant disease/bug infestation and yes, even climate change! After Ms. Tolson presents and answers participant questions a planting activity follows. Bring gloves and a water bottle
Participants will receive focused reading materials 2 weeks prior to Event and follow up materials for home planting projects.
