Help Light the Way

Hey, everyone, the Ad-Hoc Committee on LED Streetlights still needs your help in determining the best, most appropriate LED streetlights to deploy throughout the community. NOW is your chance to weigh-in before our long-lasting investment is made. The ongoing LED streetlight pilot program will be continuing for another three months and we need your help! See our July 2017 Press Release for more info about how to lend a hand. Please be sure to visit and provide feedback on multiple locations, as lighting types and intensities vary by location.

Parking: The Goldilocks Paradox

Too much, too little; Too costly, too cheap; Too aggressive, too lenient. It's hard to get parking just right, Goldilocks. However, the Village is interested in continuous improvement. To that end, the Village will be undertaking a pilot project this fall to test some of the latest parking meter technologies and app-based parking services that will make parking easier and more user-friendly, while at the same time continuing to provide adequate customer parking opportunities. Keep tuned for more info -- we'll need your help to get parking just right!

Farmers in the . . . where?

Hi-ho, the derry-o, farmers will be in the . . . shhhh! It's a secret! Actually, as a Scarsdale Official subscriber, you're among the first to get in the loop: Farmers will be in the Dale! Yes, a Farmers Market is returning to Scarsdale this fall in Boniface Circle on a pilot basis. Farmers. Food. Fun. 10583. Right. Here. The USDA has cited at least 10 Reasons to Shop at a Farmers Market, and the Village agrees wholeheartedly: Buy and eat local! Watch for more news and details over the next few weeks. Village Board Meeting Update

The August 08, 2017, Village Board meeting featured a number of agenda items, including authorization to transfer FY 2016/17 year-end financial closeout dollars in support of important capital needs (p. 7). The Village Board noted that outstanding financial management during the 2016/17 fiscal year budget made the transfer possible. Among other capital investments, the $935,000 transfer included $500,000 for additional roadway paving to be completed in August 2017. See here for a schedule of upcoming Village Board meetings.
