Cat Got Your Tongue?

If you haven't participated in the Freightway Site Redevelopment Studynow is your chance! Public Workshop #2 is being held tomorrow at the Scarsdale Congregational Church, 1 Heathcote Road, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The workshop will be informative, engaging, and fun. You'll evaluate potential redevelopment scenarios and help shape the project goals and objectives. This is a rare opportunity to influence redevelopment of a significant Village Center site; we need your help to make this gem in the rough sparkle.

Change Isn't for Everyone

Tired of buying stuff that you don't need, simply to get change, or walking down the street sounding like the approach of Santa's sleigh with all that coin in your pocket? Well, SNAP!, Scarsdale is coming to the rescue -- we may even get an App for that. Starting next week, we'll be testing new parking meters and payment options in the Village Center and need your feedback. Look for the brightly colored test signs and complete the phone survey afterward; test ALL FOUR parking meter types, complete each survey, and be eligible for a gift.

It's Time to Turn Over a New Leaf

If you or your landscaper have been placing your fall leaves on the street pavement for collection during past leaf seasons, please discontinue the practice. Not only do leaf piles on the streets create drainage and public safety hazards, but they are also prohibited under the Village Code. Enforcement personnel will be checking for violations as leaf collection approaches in mid-October. Importantly, property owners are responsible for their landscaper's actions and a summons will be issued to the property owner when a violation is encountered.

Memorial Garden: 1st 9/11 Monument

Did you know that the Scarsdale American Legion Post 52 designed and constructed a Memorial Garden to forever commemorate America's fallen heroes and serve as a reminder for the sacrifices made for freedom? It features a winding path with handcrafted monuments depicting each American war experience, including the first 9/11 monument in New York State. The Garden is located on Mamaroneck Road by the Scarsdale Pool Complex. Stop in with the kids or grandkids and take a peek -- it's beautiful and educational.
