You Don't have to Outrun a Bear

You just have to run faster than the person with you. While it's barely feeling like spring, it's time to come out of hibernation and register for the 48th Annual 15K & 4 Mile Runs. This Scarsdale tradition is the oldest race in Westchester County and includes the Abe Simon Memorial Team Race & the Kids Fun Run. Persons of all ages are encouraged to participate on Sunday, March 25th, but everyone must register in advance either in-person at Village Hall or online no later than Friday, March 16th at 5:00 PM. For safety reasons, no bears allowed.

The Ugly Duckling

Well, it's a wee bit larger than a duckling -- perhaps a cross between an ugly duckling and a white elephant: The Freightway Garage. Will it become a beautiful swan, among the best of all Scarsdale development? The latest chapter of this gripping saga has just unfolded with publication of the February 2018 Freightway Redevelopment Study! A Vision, seven Principles, and four Scenarios were developed through the months-long public process. What's next? Stay tuned to Scarsdale Official, & participate as the conversation continues.

Have you ever heard of Rudy's Music? Here's a clue: Pensa. No, not Mensa, Scarsdalians, but Pensa -- as in the highly sought after "MK." If you're still not catchin' our drift, here's why Scarsdale Official is daydreaming (don't tell the boss) about epic guitar solos & sold out rock n' roll shows: SoHo's iconic Rudy's Music is opening another store in . . . Scarsdale, baby! Think guitars and equipment favored by music legend clientele like Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Lou Reed, and The Stones. Eyes on 30 East Parkway, rockers! \m/ \m/

Village Board Meeting Update

The Village Board's Regular Meeting held on February 13, 2018, featured a few important items, including resolutions establishing the FY 2018/19 Recreation Fees & Charges Schedule (p. 18), & acceptance of over $240,000 in gifts (p.33) to support the Library Renovation and Addition Project. Kudos to the Scarsdale Public Library Campaign Committee for their fundraising achievements! Residents and other interested parties are encouraged to review the meeting calendar for important upcoming meetings, topics, & agendas.
