It's Not Meant for Scarsdale...

Although some claim it tastes like rain and can replace rhubarb, Japanese Knotweed is an invasive that can spread like wildfire. First introduced as an ornamental on estates, Japanese Knotweed has since been identified as a problematic invasive species by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. The Village of Scarsdale, in partnership with the Scarsdale School District, was awarded a $24,500 grant to combat this invasive species along the South Fox Meadow Brook adjacent to the Scarsdale High School.  Keep an eye out for workers once a month April - September!

Which Meter is Which Again?

The Village of Scarsdale completed a parking meter pilot program last year from September - December. The Pilot program was designed to give downtown patrons the opportunity to test the new meters and for the Village to examine user preferences and equipment performance as the Village contemplates a capital meter replacement project. The Village Board's Municipal Services Committee will be convening on May 22 at 6 PM to receive a presentation on the final report of this parking meter pilot program.

As We Swing into Spring...

The Wynmor Har-Tru Tennis Court Capital Improvement Project is now in full stride. Nestled away in a small community park, the Wynmor court has been used by neighborhood tennis enthusiasts for decades. Showing some signs of wear, the courts are getting much needed upgrades to drainage, irrigation, the court surface and fencing to further enhance usability. The renovations are scheduled for completion this Spring. You can learn more about the Village's Tennis Programs here
