Sidewalk Sale . . . and Dog Show???

Here's a Scarsdale Official insider secret: The Annual Summer Sidewalk Sale is the place to be seen with your canine shopping accomplice. While not the Westminster Kennel Club's event of the year, the Scarsdale pups will give you pause . . . and sometimes paws, if you're nice. Always ask before petting, of course.  Shop the 'Dale with the Scarsdale Business Alliance tomorrow through Saturday to take advantage of the best deals of the year. Food trucks. Music. Sidewalk Sale . . . and . . . shhhh . . . some pretty cool best friends strolling about.

Freightway Study Shifting Gears

Tired of seeing that ugly, aging garage? Well, the Freightway Site Redevelopment project is moving another step forward with issuance of a Request for Expressions of Interest. The RFEI represents the first-step in a two-step process to select a preferred developer. The February 2018 Freightway Site Redevelopment Study relied upon a robust public engagement process to craft a vision supported by seven principles, against which development concepts presented through the RFEI process will be evaluated. Proposals are due by October 15th.

Hey, Fox-y!

Beautiful wildlife is everywhere, Scarsdalians. Every day around the 'Dale can be a suburban safari if you keep your eyes and ears open and move about quietly. Occasionally, you might even see a red fox - if you're lucky. To avoid conflicts with our local wildlife, keep your distance, keep pets leashed (or supervised when in your yard), and don't feed wildlife, either intentionally or by leaving trash or pet food accessible. If you spot an injured animal or one displaying concerning behavior,  notify the Scarsdale Police Department at 914-722-1200.

Village Board Meeting Update

The Village Board's Limited Agenda Meeting held the morning of July 24, 2018, included one item: Village Board Findings in connection with a request for a Certificate of Appropriateness to demolish the two-story, single-family home located at 6 Fenimore Road. The French Norman inspired home was designed by Architect Andrew J. Thomas, used as his residence, and found to be worthy of preservation. As such, the request to demolish the home was denied. Please review the meeting calendar for future meeting dates and information.
