Writing on the Wall: Charitable Gifts

Rumblings out of Washington, D.C., foreshadowed that the I.R.S. would issue guidance and/or initiate rulemaking to clarify their position with respect to the federal income tax deductibility of charitable contributions made pursuant to state and local tax credit programs. Well, on August 27, 2018, docket #REG-112176-18, Contributions in Exchange for State or Local Tax Credits, was published in the Federal Register. Public comments are due by 10/11/18. Consult a tax advisor; School Tax charitable gift contributions will NOT be accepted.

Scarsdale Library Construction Beginning (JPG)

The Hare and the Tortoise

While it may have seemed like a long time coming, construction has begun for the Scarsdale Public Library Renovation and Addition Project! Special thanks to the volunteers, residents, staff, and others that have helped the project to come to fruition, helping to maintain and advance the Library's preeminent status in the County and State. The Library Loft will provide a variety of patron services while the project is underway. BTW, join Friends of the Scarsdale Library for a free Community Movie Night on September 7th!

Take Me Home, Country Roads

<== That may be what the driving surface of Post Road has felt like for the past few years, but thanks to the efforts of Senator Andrea Stewart-Cousins and Assemblywoman Amy Paulin, as well as cooperation from the New York State DOT, it will soon re-emerge from construction as a modern roadway, complete with things like smooth asphalt, appropriate striping and drainage, and other necessary improvements. The project is on-schedule and progressing nicely! Incidentally, the ConEd project involving Scarsdale Avenue is on-schedule, as well.
