Go into the Light, Carol Anne!

No!?? Don't be afraid -- it isn't like there's a poltergeist, or something . . . it's simply the latest Scarsdale LED Streetlight Pilot Project! The Conservation Advisory Council has partnered with the Department of Public Works to begin testing LED Streetlights on residential roadways. The Phase II LED Streetlight Project will last for approximately 30 days and all residents are encouraged to visit the Phase II test locations and provide feedback by email using LED@scarsdale.com. Watch for signs like the one pictured when visiting the test locations.

Trick or Treat!

For Rec system users, it's a treat! Beginning on November 1st, new software will provide residents with a modern and easy-to-use online platform to purchase pool and other passes, or to register online for Parks, Recreation, and Conservation Department programs and activities. The new program, CivicRec, replaces RecOnline, which had become obsolete and was no longer supported by the vendor. Among other service enhancements, residents will be able to conveniently view notifications as well as create and manage personal calendars.

2018 Community Traffic Safety Award (jpg)

They're Coming to Get You, Barabara

Worse than George Romero's living dead, drivers can present a risk to the life, safety and welfare of themselves and others. The risks are elevated during Halloween and there are extra safety precautions that the traveling public, including trick-or-treaters should take at this time of year. Incidentally, because of our efforts to improve local traffic safety for all modes of travel, the Village of Scarsdale was honored today with the AAA Gold Traffic Safety Award, recognizing the Village's traffic safety efforts, including education, enforcement, and engineering!
