It'Snow Season

No matter how jumbled the spelling, we all get the meaning: Snow is coming. Today, actually -- just look out your Scarsdale window. It's real, folks. Indeed, reports indicate that we may receive four to six inches accumulation. Although DPW is still amidst leaf collection operations (and all of our Scarsdale Official readers know not to place leaves on the street), our salt trucks (and maybe plowing trucks) will be on the roads working hard to maintain the traveling public's safety. Please help by driving carefully and helping to keep sidewalks and paths clear.

It's almost time for the hugely popular Holiday and Tree Lighting Gathering on November 30, Light the 'Dale! It's a community celebration with all the trimmings: Santa, Carolers, Hot Cocoa, Food Stations, and more! Hey, as Scarsdale Official insiders, here's a secret: There will also be holiday surprises, so plan to stay for the entire event, which runs from 5 - 7 pm. The tree lighting will be at 5:30 pm and there will be a live drawing after Santa arrives to select one luck kid to help Mayor Dan Hochvert LIGHT THE TREE -- help spread the word!

Green with Envy

Hey, have an electric vehicle and need to visit or park in the Village Center area? Well, if you do, there are a couple of new, well-placed Freightway Garage spots where you can not only park (subject to posted parking regulations and fees), but also get juiced . . . for free. Yes, your friends may be green with envy, perhaps even motivated to dump the pump, themselves! Both of the Level II charger parking spaces are located at the front of the Freightway Garage, to the right. Thanks to ProPark Valet and the NYSDEC for funding to support the installation!

Are you Prepared?

Know where to access accurate, official emergency information quickly? The Village uses Blackboard Connect to communicate emergency information to Scarsdale residents. While the system automatically accesses landline telephone numbers from the 911 system, residents may also sign-up to add confidential, preferred contact information and/or opt-in to receive text or email alerts; please also sign-up for Notify Me to receive other important Scarsdale information. Westchester County and New York State offer similar emergency notification systems.

Village Board Meeting Update

The November 13, 2018, Village Board agenda featured several items including the establishment of a permanent Advisory Council on Communications (pg. 31) and the renewal of an agreement with Blackboard Connect for the operation and maintenance of an Emergency Notification System (pg. 60). The next Regular Meeting is scheduled for November 27, 2018, at 8:00 PM, but arrive early to get the latest exciting info about the Freightway Garage Development Project. Please check the calendar for all upcoming meetings.
