Light the 'Dale -- Be There!

Please join Scarsdale Official tomorrow evening in Boniface Circle for Light the ‘Dale, the annual Holiday and Tree Lighting gathering! It's a community celebration with all the trimmings: Santa, carolers, hot cocoa, food stations, and more! There will also be holiday surprises, so plan to stay for the entire event, which runs from 5 - 7 pm. The tree lighting will be at 5:30 pm and there will be a live drawing after Santa arrives to select one lucky kid to help Mayor Dan Hochvert LIGHT THE TREE -- help spread the word, and see you there!

Shop 'till You Drop & Uke 'till You. . .

Have a little Eddie Vedder running through your veins? Get this: As part of the First Annual Shop and Dine the 'Dale, there's a BYOU (Bring Your Own Uke) Holiday Strum and Sing Along scheduled for Saturday, December 08, from 1:15 pm - 2:00 pm! Beginning Thursday, December 06, through Saturday, December 08, there will be family-friendly activities, live music featuring New Orleans Renaissance, merchant promotions, and a great raffle. So, get outside, shop local, and have fun during Shop and Dine the 'Dale -- ukulele optional.

Scarsdale is sometimes characterized as a Village of Volunteers. Our residents dedicate countless hours of their personal time in support of Village government by serving on various volunteer boards, commissions, and councils. Volunteer initiatives, including the Scarsdale LED Streetlight Project, help establish Scarsdale as an innovative, regional leader in municipal service delivery. LEaDing the way, the Village will soon be replacing 1,510 energy-hungry residential streetlights with energy efficient LED fixtures. See the LED Committee Update!

Freightway Parking Permit Sales

Freightway Garage Semi-Annual Parking Permit sales begin Monday, December 03. There are no automatic renewals, so existing semi-annual permit holders must reapply. Permits for residents, as well as Village Center merchants and their employees, will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis. Beginning December 13, non-resident applications received on or after December 03 will be processed in the order they were received. The Freightway Semi-Annual Parking Permits will be valid from January 01, 2019 through June 30, 2019.

Village Board Meeting Update

The November 27, 2018, Village Board agenda featured several items, including Authorization to Retain Legal Services for the Freightway Redevelopment Project (p. 34). Prior to the meeting, staff provided an overview of developer responses to the Freightway Redevelopment Site RFEI. The next Regular Meeting is scheduled for December 11, 2018, at 8:00 PM, but arrive early to attend the Village Board Priorities discussion at 6:30 pm in the third floor Trustee's Room. Please check the calendar for all upcoming meetings.
