Don't Roll the Dice

It's going to be snake eyes. To make parking enforcement operations more efficient and encourage compliance with our local parking restrictions, the Village has deployed automatic license plate readers capable of identifying a variety of parking violations with a drive-by scan of the license plate. The system detects violations such as meter feeding, time limit violations in both metered and non-metered locations, violations of the Permit Terms and Conditions, and others. So, please park legally, and we'll have an app for that in June 2019.

Rock The 'Dale

The Village's freshly-minted Arts Advisory Council is off to a running start, presenting Rock The 'Dale on Thursday, May 23, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Chase Park. The ever-popular Walters Food Truck will be on-hand for you to grab a quick bite to eat, and IBEX will be providing musical entertainment of the folk, bluegrass, and indie variety. The band enjoys "overly-fast flat picking and luscious harmonies." If you arrive a little early, the Scarsdale High School Art Club will be unveiling their mural, "Wings," at 54 East Parkway, 4:30 PM.

Different Strokes for Different Folks

Did you know that the backstroke uses different muscles than the front crawl, contributing to a more balanced musculature, which yields many health benefits? Well, get off that sweaty yoga mat and enjoy the Scarsdale Pool Complex, which opens the gates for its 51st season on Saturday, May 25!  Pool hours during the Memorial Day weekend are 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM. Visit the Pool Homepage for information on Pool Permits, swimming lessons, and more. Familiarize yourself with the Pool Rules first and then enjoy this wonderful amenity!

Found: The Missing Link!

Nah, we're just monkeying around -- the Darwinian "Last Common Ancestor" hasn't been found. Rather, the long-standing gap in the Bronx River Parkway Trail is about to be closed. The trail extension will provide a continuous 8.5 mile path from Bronxville to the Kensico Dam Plaza in Valhalla. The "missing link" between Crane and Greenacres will be constructed on the west side of the Parkway, mitigating Scarsdale impacts. Questions can be directed to David DeLucia, Westchester County Parks, by email or at 914-231-4570.
